The executive chef/owner, Karen Spire has spent her lifetime in the restaurant business. In 1997 she commenced her formal education at The Restaurant School on Walnut Street in Philadelphia. Her knowledge and talents led her to The Ritz Carlton at Rittenhouse Square even before her graduation in 1999.
Her next step was with Fish and Company under ownership by famed restaurateur Kevin Meeker and then executive chef Trish Morrissey. People kept demanding her talents and by 2002 she was on her own. In 2003 she worked with Seth Frankel, owner of The Shark River Yacht Club, in opening a banquet/catering establishment. She continues to work with Seth to this day. Today she continues expanding her educational horizons and transforms this directly to developing Karen's Catering. Her unique hands on approach by meeting with each client, event coordination, and menu selection produces an exceptional event.
Karen has hand picked her staff, bringing in Paola Rivera as Sous Chef. Paola is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island.
The wait staff and front of house staff are seasoned with multiple years experience in food service, and in fine dining. At your event you can not help but notice how well the staff works together and how they help to provide everyone with the finest of service.
